People say long copy is dead. I disagree. To prove them wrong, I wrote this print ad for Urban Ladder’s The Honestly Good Sale in January 2016. Unfortunately(?) the sale did pretty well by itself and we decided not to spend on print.
I’m still putting it up here because I thoroughly enjoyed writing it and hope someone will enjoy reading it. If you do, please leave a comment. It would be heartening to know that our tribe isn’t dead.
Texts From Dog a meme (and later, book) created by October Jones was making waves on the web a few years ago, when I was working for a furniture brand. As a personal writing exercise, I used the format to write a few of my own TFD jokes with furniture and decor as the theme.

This is a tongue-in-cheek take on how Indians have taken a foreign tongue and made it our own. Because we are like that only, no?
Does reverse psychology work? We wanted to test it out.
So we “warned” people of the side effects of buying furniture from Urban Ladder through this mailer. As it turns out, it worked amazingly well in terms of both engagement and revenue.
When Urban Ladder turned 4, we wanted to let the world know. So we declared it Stay-at-Home Day and helped folks come up with the craziest excuses to stay at home. After all, we hadn’t made homes beautiful for nothing! 😉
